Offered to maintain the integrity of safety systems and process equipment installed on offshore platforms. As a consequence of these systems operating in hostile atmospheres they are prone to the effects of corrosion. Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions promote the need to have the performance of these systems verified and assured and have developed software to optimise the maintenance strategies in line with the results of the test programmes. Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions has identified systems to mitigate the effects of scale and corrosion and have expanded this offering now to incorporate process control.
The chemical de-scaling processes Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions use are specified to optimise performance with regard to the different scale types that can be found in process equipment and firewater systems. The initial concept involved the development of a better, safer and manageable method of de-scaling compared to the outdated strong acid based methods.
In the System three main phases (De-greasing, De-scaling and Neutralisation) can be identified and is concluded by the inhibition phase which protects the fire water system against corrosion, without damaging metal work.
This System is considered as the only chemical de-scaling system for dissolving and de-contamination of sulphate scale inside piping and process equipment on offshore platforms with outstanding results.
Critical to the efficiency of both systems, the chemicals are circulated at a design temperature under pressure through the piping or equipment to maximise performance.
The process is safer compared with traditional methods since personnel are not exposed, production losses due to dismantling, transport and labour intensive jet washing are eradicated and the scale is dissolved into the water-soluble chemicals and may be discharged or re-injected.
The environmentally friendly chemicals are bio-degradable and both British CEFAS and Norwegian SFT registered; |
